Ernst Mach

He was born in Chrlice in Czech Republic. His father was tutor and having graduated from Prague University. Turas/Tuřany He had been baptized a Roman Catholic.

Up to the age of 14 he was educated at home by his parents (moust by father) . Then he study at High school in Kremsier (now Kroměříž), where he studied for three years. In 1855 he started study at the University of Vienna. There he studied physics and for one semester medical physiology, receiving his doctorate in physics in 1860 and his Habilitation the following year.

His early work focused on the Doppler effect in optics and acoustics. In 1864 he took a job as Professor of Mathematics in Graz, and in 1866 he was appointed as Professor of Physics. During that period Mach continued his work in psycho-physics and in sensory perception. In 1867 he took the chair of Professor of Experimental Physics at Charles-Ferdinand University, Prague, where he stayed for 28 years.

After him is cooled for example value of sound speed, cone of air in high speed and other nature phenomenon in acoustics. His arguments war with Albert Einstein wos one of the best physcs dialog in all history.

He died in 1916.

Columbia University

Columbia University is a private university in the United States and a member of the Ivy League. Columbia's main campus lies in New York City. Columbia University is one of the oldes uninversity of U.S. becouse it was establish in 1754.

Columbia has had a long tradicion with produce American political leaders. For example U.S. Presidents Theodore Roosevelt and Franklin D. Roosevelt both studied law at Columbia.

Today there are 3 543 professors and 25 toused students, Undergraduates 6 923, postgraduates 15 731. President of university is Lee Bollinger.
